"EMOTIONAL ANATOMY is based on an ongoing process of learning fundamental human sensations beyond national and cultural contexts, and examines the relationships between body, emotion, and thought.
The works continue the exhibition Remain of Impressions, presented at the Umm al-Fahm Museum (2022), which explored the connection between emotion, thought, and the activity of the nervous system. While the previous exhibition focused on states of consciousness and the impact of emotions on the brain, the current exhibition expands the research and turns its attention to the relationship between heart, emotion, and action.
Through drawing, sculpture, video, and performance, turbulent emotions are examined as a universal experience—one that is not always subject to choice, yet can be learned and consciously responded to. The exhibition investigates how emotions take form, how they are inscribed in the body and in space, and how they may be transformed from intense states into refined and conscious positions."
